What is an open mic? As the name implies, it is a ‘microphone’ that is open to all performers who attend, regardless of ability or experience, genre or style. An open mic is a great way to try out new material in front of a small, supportive audience. It can also be a helpful way to practice playing in front of people. Our open mic is coffeehouse-style, which means that people sit quietly and listen to performers, and there will be coffee/tea and some snacks. There will be a sign up sheet at the door for performers. Doors open at 6:30, and performances start at 7:00, so be sure to get there early to get a time slot. The event will last a for about 2 hours, which will give each act the opportunity to perform at least once, and give the audience the opportunity to watch a variety of performers. In general, each performer can expect to have about 10-15 minutes (approximately 2-3 songs). Hope to see you there!
