How to Make a Salad From Edible Wild Greens with Beate Marquardt
Wednesday June 19 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeBeate is a former biology teacher with a PhD in Biology and Linguistics. “I came to Canada in 1979 to have my own self-sufficient farm and raise a family on homegrown vegetables and meat. Now that I’m older, I like to help others grow their own food and experience the energy that comes from fresh greens and a good talk with gardening friends.”
At 1:00pm, on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, meet Beate at Rod Reid Trail where you will learn and pick your wild greens.
At 2:15pm head to the Library’s Multi-Purpose Room where you will make your wild green salad.
The Library will provide some cheese, bread or crackers and salad dressing for this event!
You will need to bring: medium metal or plastic bowl, sharp kitchen knife and a cutting board.
